Fullscreen not working / settings not saving.
Seems to have issues with full screen not working, no mater what settings it refuse to go full screen.

Same goes for the video settings, they reset every time I restart the game as well.

Anyone got any idea for a solution for this?

Turned off Teamviewer, that's what my problem was. So make sure you turn off any computer sharing applications you have running.

Thank you for this! I have been looking for a solution to this for a couple of weeks!

Solution for my laptop and 75Hz HD-ready TV:
- Disconnect hdmi cable
- Run DS2 on laptop
- Set 1280 x 768 and fullscreen mode
- Connect hdmi cable

Also have this problem, though the previous solution isn't working because my display options aren't controlled through nvidia... Could be because I have a 4K screen? I'm trying to run it at 1920 x 1080 though.

I had 2 screen running, using MICROSOFT BUTTON + P to turn off the other display worked for me. If you have 2 screens running at the same time you may have problems.

I tried closing my game and leaving it in windowed, then changing the setting to fullscreen and at 720p and it worked just fine for me

For me, the only solution was to edit the game config to force it into fullscreen.

1) Open windows explorer and type %APPDATA% into the bar.
2) Click DarkSoulsIII folder
3) Right click on the GraphicsConig.xml file and open with notepad
4) Delete the line that says "<ScreenMode>WINDOW</ScreenMode>"

Save, restart DS3. DS3's default screen mode is full screen, so without this line in the config, it should force it back to fullscreen for you.

Turn off teamviewer or other desktop sharing applications. VNCServer. Etc.

As soon as i exited teamviewer (which i leave running all the time), it fixed this problem for me.
Yep shutting down Team Viewer fixed it for me Thanks Spiff:ily:

bump, still a major issue.

I have a Sager/Clevo with Win 10, 75hz g-sync display 1080p IPS, and GTX 970m
I compiled a list of all the proposed fixed that some people claim to work from all over the internet and my results.

- Updated Video drivers.. No change
- Changed compatibility settings in every way imaginable.. No change
- No second monitor in use
- Closed teamviewer.. No change
- Turned refresh rate down to 60hz.. No change
- Disabled V-Sync.. No change
- Forced to Adaptive Sync in control panel.. No change
- Turned off G-Sync.. No change
- Turned off GPU Scaling.. No change
- DSR factors already off
- Forced GPU Scaling with override for all apps.. No change
- Edited XML graphics config file in appdata/roaming/darksoulsII.. No change, file re-edits itself to windowed.
- Forced file to readonly via CMD admin after setting to fullscreen.. No change, resets readonly status
- Changed user config in directory to -10 and -31.. No change
- Created shortcut from directory instead of launching from Steam.. No change
- Deleted userconfig in directory.. No change
- Alt enter.. Windows bong sound, No change
- Launched in Steam Big Picture.. No change
- Set to lower resolution then alt enter.. Goes to full screen finally, but it stays fullscreen at that resolution, and can not bump it back to 1080p and everything looks distorted and awful. Also have black bars on top and bottom. Huge bars when i set to 720p, small bars when i set to 900p. After quitting game and openeing, game still defaults to windowed mode.
- Connecting another HDMI monitor, setting to 720p, alt-enter, disconnect HDMI.. Same issue as above

Note: I've never had this issue with any other game.

Bump, any solution since last year? Using a custom resolution to enable 60Hz works well but I have to do it every time I want to start SotfS. Is it possible to associate the program with this custom resolution automatically?
