Is Shrine of Amana the best place to farm Twinkling Titanite?

Been farming there for some time using covetous+1, Tatters and Parma. Drop rate is okay but maybe not the best. I'd say that is because their loot table is heavily diluted with many other items.

On the plus side I am amassing great quantities of Crimson water, radiant gems and Dragon charms.

There are many of them in wooden chests or on corpses in the Sunken King DLC. Items in wooden chests (not metal ones) as well as on corpses respawn via Bonfire Ascetics.
The most notable spot with twinklings is a wooden chest after the trapped stairs, which has 3 twinklings. It nets you some petrified dragon bones, too. But there are more spots along the way, with one of them even starting to always give 3 twinklings when at bonfire intensity 2 or higher (NG+ or after burning an ascetic). You can check the wikidot for all the spots and then route it accordingly.

Most DLC knights ignore you completely if you use Alluring Skulls or Yearn (recommended), which should make farming much easier and faster.

I used Bonfire Ascetics in Dragon Aerie to respawn the crystal lizards. There's a guaranteed 2x spawn of twinkling titanite on the level, and if you get all the lizards you can sometimes get another 10. It doesn't take long, but the mummies are annoying as hell.

Thanks for that info guys, I'll keep that in mind.

I thought about doing the ascetic thing last time I played but in my case I needed well over 100 twinkling. Farming mobs was likely inevitable for those quantities.

I've burned through about 90 so far but need quite a bit more. Lots of weapons to try lol.

Need to look for that Sunken King place. I don't think I've reached that point yet.

I think Dragon Aerie is better to farm all of the upgrade materials. Plus You don't get all the junk equipment from Melee dudes in Shrine of Amana.

I don't get that Dragon Aerie place. There are no mobs at all apart from the splody guys. I went further up to the Shrine but only those two big black mothers. I hate both of those places.

Seems like Amana is probably the best place to farm twinkles from mobs.

Crystal Lizards plus plenty of items to pick up. Not everything needs to be a drop.

Depends on if you want to spend 12 hours farming or 1 hour. If the latter, then, yes, Dragon Aerie w/ascetics is probably the best place. If you like killing mobs for drops at a slow pace...

However, the best option is to simply have someone drop you the ♥♥♥♥ (the upgraded gear). No farming required.
