Which class is best????
Just starting the game and was wondering if there is any advantage to any particular class. Does using long range magic and spells make this game any easier or is close range better with heavy swords.

Hey there, There is no best class in Dark souls as it all ends up what stats you invest in.
As for playstyle, that is completely up to you. Magic starts hard but becomes pve easy mode after a certain point

Picked the warrior kind, take an axe, hit things, straight forward for the first try, can recommend it :P

with deprived you only put yourself in disanvatage in matchmaking since soul memory but again you probably doesnt know whole agape ring thing and how it works

Sorcery makes early game a bit easier, and you can always put points into str and dex when you need to use a wep that deals good physical dmg

Cleric and Knight are the two best classes if you're not planning to focus on arena. If it's gonna be an arena only char, by all means go deprived.
i recommend a melee class with decent armor since you are a new player. pick a warrior or a knight. they are the best noob starting classes since they both start with decent armor. i would pick a warrior over a knight tho as a noob since a shield can be very good for a new player since they often end up using the shield more than dodging. (at least every player i have seen did this when they were noobs). but classes ain't like wow for example. a warrior can shoot spells like a sorcerer. a sorcerer can use a giant club and freakish armor. it all depends on how you build your character. for example i started of as a knight. but i want to hit level cap as fast as possible so i'm farming gl (a boss) atm. i'm at level 500 atm and i found it to be way quicker to use hexes (a school of magic) so i reseted my stats and put 99/99/99/99 in int/faith/att and endurance to get quick and stable kills. as i said. it all depends on how you are building your character!

Anything is fine. Imo Deprived is the best option since you are free to do whatever you think is the best. And if you want to unlock easy mode, then just play sorcerer.

That sir, works only when you know what type of build you're going for - else your open for everything (esp. if you respec) and comon when you're new to the game 10k souls won't really matter for SM meta tier
