Can I use Flawless Widescreen without getting VAC banned?

I have DS2 and the FW software, but i gets me a warn that there is a risk of getting vac banned after the recent patch, is there a risk, can I use the software normally, anyone reported banned accounts?

This game does not use VAC or give any sort of game bans (the 8 year old threads you may have seen refer to the original version's launch, which had a very poor VAC implemention, banning random players - it was quickly removed and those posts are no longer relevant). DS2 instead has it's own "softban"-system, which just makes it so, that the matchmaking puts you only into a pool of other softbanned. The system is also not sophisticated at all and only cares about impossible in-game stats. And some mods even dodge that.
Speaking of which, if you are super paranoid, softbans only apply to the current account. Some people use family-shared 2nd accounts for heavily modded playthroughs (total conversions, randomizers, etc.), but that shouldn't be neccessary.

Flawless Widescreen is safe, but you may have issues in fullscreen and need to play in a borderless fullscreen window (if you want fullscreen). Check out the "Guides"-section on here for "Borderless", since the game itself does not have an option for that either (well, not in-game anyways). And before you ask, third-party tools, forcing a borderless fullscreen window are also safe, like pretty much anything else, that doesn't affect the gameplay directly.
