Dull Ember?, WHERE ART THOU?

Today I reached the Harvest Valley, and did a bit of backtrack because apparently I'm missing a ♥♥♥♥ing lot of stuff. Got the Drangleic Set (I was wondering why everybody was using that cool sword, and other, because I haven't found ♥♥♥♥♥) and then I remembered about McDuff.

McDuff is asking for an ember, aye?, so I Googled about it and tis located in the Iron Keep, BUT they moved it in SotFS to the very Bonfire I arrived after defeating the Pursuer.

The thing is, I remember opening those 2 chests (or do I?), and the Ember simply does not exist in my inventory. My Item Box contains only Boss Souls.

I'm not the kind of person that just discards items; the only items I've gotten rid of are Silky Stones in that Nest and sold the extra armours to that Merchant at Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean Adventure Land.


Maybe there is a glitch and my Ember is still at the Iron Keep?, I don't know why but I've been feeling that my copy of SotFS is actually a regular DS2, don't ask why.

Is in a chest at Lost bastille, the only way to get it is going through the crow after the battle with pursuer in Forest of giant

The chests aren't there, so that means I opened them, aye?

The two chests next to the Tower Apart bonfire in Lost Bastille are iron chests, and do not disappear after being opened. No chests do.

Are you playing this on a console? Your Steam account doesn't have Dark Souls 2 or SotFS.

Actually, you're right, they never disappear. Oh god WHAT THE ♥♥♥♥?
Now I'm worried.

I find Steam's Community better than others. I go to PSNprofiles.com and ask for stuff, but sometimes you just can't hope for a fast reply.


I wanted to get DS2 in PS3 because I've had Demon's Souls and Dark Souls on release here and wanted to continue the legacy. I didn't bought DS2 on time because reasons.
I'll rebuy DS2 on Steam somewhere in the future, I know me...

Well, after looking it up, the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of SotFS don't have all of the changes present in other version of SotFS. The Dull Ember's should still be in the Iron Keep for you.

if i recall the ps3 and 360 has only the dlc with it. all the changes you get for the updated version ( like the enemy placements )are only for the new systems and dx11 so yes your ember is still in iron keep
