Either:
1.) You disconnected from Multiplayer too many times, and your character has been banned from co-op and invading, but can still be invaded. Playing the game online is considered being in Multiplayer, regardless if you have any phantoms in your world or not. This can be corrected by a bone of order. You will know if this restriction has been put on you as the game will tell you when you load your character, but only for the first time after the restriction has been placed.
2.) You've been cheating with the Cheat Engine online or altered your stats or soul memory offline, and the server has banned you to the cheater's pool. You can still co-op and invade or be invaded, but only with others that have been banned. You can still see bloodstains, ghosts, bonfire ghosts, and messages from both the normal and banned pools, but you can only interact with the banned pool. You are not told of this, you must contact From to receive confirmation that you have been banned. There is no way to reverse this ban, you can circumvent it using family share.
If a bone of order has not worked, go to the Iron Crap Bridge and look for signs. If it's clear, invade someone and if you can't you are most likely banned. For best confirmation results aside from getting a response from... From, try to connect with a friend under perfect circumstances: No Effigy effect, same SM teir, and Name Engraved ring.
I hit walls in certain areas of this game (Drangliec Castle, Shrine of Amana, No-man's Wharf and seem to get invaded by ALL the cheese-tactic players in those areas.
The second one is correct. The temporary restrictions placed on people who repeatedly disconnect from multiplayer sessions that can be lifted with a bone of order is not a softban.
Also tried to edit my stats on another character, it bugged and my int went to -6k
I believe it carries across the entire account. That's why you need Family sharing to re-access the main servers.
On a side note; does the Steam Guard activate when you lift the 5.00 Dollar restriction on new accounts?
And another one: if the game detects you just HAVE Cheat Engine on your computer, will soft-ban occur? I don't want to get rid of it because I like making quick PvP characters on the first souls.
Softbans are linked to your steam account, not your save file, which is a massive oversight on From's part. I did my test before the Steam Guard was put into place, but I believe it only blocks posting comments and other community interaction but it does not interfer with online play through games.
Also, I'm home now, if you want to test if you are banned or not let me know.
Oh, I'm banned. xD And I was trying to Family share with a dummy account and it said 'Steam guard needs to be activated.' ._.
I would love if someone could help me figure out if i'm banned or not.
Go to the Iron keep bridge and see if you get ANY action (That place has activity at ANY SM.)
