I was playing when the power went down on my house. After a few seconds late, it

came back, but when I try start the game, it says that my savegame file is

corrupted. Any suggention of what could I do to restore my save game? Please, guys.

More than 80 hours spent in a single playthrough. :(

Try this:

1. Search %appdata% from the Start Menu
2. Go to Roaming folder, then right click Dark Souls 2 folder
3. Select "Restore Previous Versions"
4. Select any prior version available

If that doesn't work, you are f*cked.

EDIT: Be aware that the save file might be labeled "Hidden" in its file properties menu.

It says That there is no previous version available.

So, I think I'm ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I don't even know what to feel. :(

Do You know any backup tool for this game?
mr1029384756 Jul 18, 2015 @ 3:45pm
Its a Nexus mod, but it doesn't alter/hook any of the ".exe" or ".dll" files in the game's directory, ergo you will not get softbanned. That said, it *is* a mod and therefore should be understood that mods can have varying effects upon your game. This will not recover your saved game, but it will help in mitigating the issue should it happen again.

EDIT: Make sure you reed the mod-author's directions carefully and peek into the forums for any reports of issues. This was originally for DS 2 but it should also work for SotFS.

That tool no longer works, but if you check the posts on that page you can find a script written by a user named ethanfel and my instructions on how to use it. I always keep backups of my saves on a separate drive, since losing a 250~ hour save in Dark Souls 1.

Ah, my fault then. Thatnks for the correction.

There is a tool for backing up savegames folders called GameSave Manager. Its really easy to use, and its totally free.

Would you consider uploading your save to the Internet? I like trying to get stuff like this working again.
