Just got DS2 xbox one controller not working.
Hi guys.

So just looking for some help I have the official Microsoft xbox one controller. It works with every game I have thrown at it so far, detects fine and I can say with 100 percent certainty it’s not the controller.

But when I play Ds2 scholar it won’t work. Nothing, no buttons, nada. Tired rebooting, re plugging it in while the game is open or closed. Just wondering if this is an issue with the game or what? I first thought maybe because its a one and not a 360 but figured that is pretty ridiculous as this game is made for the xbox one and ps4.

Fix that worked for me for anyone finding this post in the future.

Go to device manager and look for "Human Interface Devices" and expand it.

From that list disable the "HID compliant game controller" I had 2.

Start DS2 and you should be good to go.

odd bug as its the first game to have a problem with my controller.

My XBox one is not working, maybe I should try this. Strange that I can go to the "Press Start" and it detects me pressing the button, then it stops working...

EDIT: I didn't do anything in there that was written here, I just went to the properties of the game from my Steam Library and at the tab General I put the two last options to off. My gamepad is working as it should now.

DO NOT try this, it crashed my computer and I spent over an hour on the phone with my friend troubleshooting. Went through blue screen of death loop and had to boot into safe mode and follow this instruction to fix it (for those who need it). https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/bsod-loop-after-installing-xbox-controller-drivers/31f3875c-0fd0-499d-9e86-788c666ce3f5

I've seen many bad fixes, but NONE OF THEM actually destroyed my computer. Great job m8.
