if anything that comparison is better made with the loyce knights and the DS1 Silver/Black Knights.
If you had to relate them, I'd consider heide knights the fraternal twin that got the quick reactions from dad and mom's dexterity.

In terms of gameplay, the Heide Knights are almost nothing like the Black Knights. In DS1, Black Knights would routinely whup me left and right for a good, long while. DS2, I killed my first Heide Knight taking next to no damage. The difficulty just isn't there.
I remember when i first found a black knight in Undead Burg. "Holy SHHHH what is that, it's not like the other undead soldiers. OMG there's no way i'm fightin... IT killed me."
