PVE Weapon Recommendation
I am using Claymore +8 right now with STR/FTH stats. Is Zweihander worth upgrading? Which one is better?

If PvE is all you care about, Rapier early on and Red Iron Twinblade once obtained. The 2 best PvE weapons.

I prefer Greatswords or Longswords. Should I get the Pursuer's sword?

Longswords aren't a weapon class. Pursuer's golfclub isn't a greatsword. Ultragreatswords are trash for PvE, too slow leaving you open for a counterattack of certain fast bosses.

Not sure if you want to play melee only, but the Dragonrider bow is a great ranged option.
The Grand Lance was a lot of fun for me, as was the Murakumo, but the rapier was the weapon that I found the most useful, specially for bosses.

What do you guys think about Zweihander?

Complete and utter trash for PvE. Same as the Pursuer Golfclub

I think it is a good ultragreatsword, I loved it in DS1 but I don't like its moveset this time, specially the second onehanded strong attack. I also can't get quite used to its aimable swings, which have caused me a couple of deaths.

I say give it a try: upgrade resources are not as scarce as in DS1. By the end you will probably have many fully upgraded weapons.

Thanks for help guys. I think I'll upgrade the Zweihander until +7 just to try it.

It's too slow for PvE, he asked whether it was good for pve and it's not. He should just stick with his claymore.

I have too many shards anyway. It shouldn't be a problem.

It's slow, but not too slow. If it were it would be impossible to complete the game using it or other slow weapons. I think fast low stamina burning weapons like rapiers are better due to their damage per second, but it is not only about optimal efficiency on paper, but also about playstile, and some play better with slow hard hitting staggering weapons. And it's not like the zweihander upgrades with twinkling titanite, so as long as he doesn't burn all his chunks and slab on it he will be fine if he finds out he is making things harder for himself by using it.

I have tried to kill fume knight with a gyrm anvil and noticed it being too slow. This is why I recommend nkt to use such weapons for PvE. Fume knight will get him.7

Oh I would have never beaten Fume Knight with a slow weapon, but that's me. I've seen it done by players that made it look easy, though. In any case, nothing stops him from having a secondary fast swinging weapon for cases like Fume while still using an ultragreatsword if it makes the rest of the game more fun for him.
