DS2SoFS PS4 and PC co-op?

I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't seem to find a proper answer ( only some posts from ages ago about DS2 and DS2SoFS incompatibility debates ). Does crossplayform summoning work between the PS4 and the PC ( DX11 version ) of DS2SoFS or is this thing platform-locked?

I'm currently playing on a PC with friends who own only PCs, but I'm thinking more and more about getting the PS4 version... ideally, I'd still want to play with them while playing from the PS4.

Has anyone actually tried a similar setup?

The platforms are locked to themselves. PC players can only play with PC players, PS4 with the other PS4's so on and so forth. Soooo, no you won't be able to play with your PC friends when playing on a PS4. Hope this answers your question.

Side note, why do you want a PS4, trying not to start a consoles VS PC argument since they always seem to pop up anyway. But if you own DS2/SoTFS already on PC why do you want to get it as well for the PS4, just seems like a waste of money personally.

Thanks for the reply, I guess that answers it. My console setup is more advantageous from the point of view of comfort. Due to some limitations, I can't connect my PC / Notebook to my TV and I can't lay as comfortably on the sofa / couch while playing ( don't get me wrong, it could be done, but it would be a bigger hassle ). I totally agree that it doesn't make sense from a financial point of view, but that's not a concern... I'll most likely get the game for PS4 anyway, I was just curious to know upfront if I'll still be able to play with my friends.

I value my comfort ( and other things ) more than I value money.
...in the end, money is just a means to other more important things in life. :D
