Not really, maybe at really high levels arced sword is better. But at low/mid levels (especially 150) marukumo is better since its lighter and requires little stat investment to do good damage where as arced sword you need to take full advantage of both scaling to do comparable damage.
That level 150 thing is irrelevant, lol
It's definitely irrelevant to me, as this game was not designed to cap at 150.
Made up by some lazy people who didn't want to invest the time it takes to reach 300 or so as you should be in stats.
So, for Me, Acred Sword is the better option, plus it looks pimp.
Arced sword doesn't swing faster if I recall though I could be wrong there. Kumo has better base damage so you get more damage out of it infused compared to arced sword. Obviously the differen't isn't that much, the only thing is sets arced sword back is its weight and it also consumes more stamina not less to swing an arced sword.
150 May not be relevant to you but it is still where most of the playerbase are at and I am assuming the OP is playing at around that range. There aren't much difference between the two weapons but as the above advantage I mentioned that Kumo has over arced sword definitely makes it better for anything that isn't high level.
Also, I should mention, the Curved Dragon Greatsword (Or whatever it's called), is a pretty fun weapon. It's strong attack is a wind slash or something or other and goes in a pretty good sweep, good for catching rollers off guard on the bridge or people in a group.
