Longbow VS Fire Longbow

Will someone tell me which one of these will put out the best damage or be the best option and why?

Consider that I have 50 DEXTERITY and 50 FAITH

1. +10 Longbow with Iron Arrows
   
2. +10 Longbow with Fire Arrows
   
3. +10 Fire Longbow with Iron Arrows
   
4. +10 Fire Longbow with Fire Arrows

I thought it would be cool to use the Fire Longbow with Fire Arrows, but I've been reading online that infusing a bow could be pointless. Wouldn't infusing a bow then using the appropriate arrow yield good results though?

It all depends on your stats for the bow. More INT/FTH = Higher fire bonus, even though the scaling is gonna be pretty crap no matter what ya do.

Generally infusing will give you more overall damage (at the cost of original scaling), but it will be spread out, and have to go through two seperate defenses, physical and fire. So sometimes you actually end up doing less damage over all. Infusing early, especially if you have low stats, can result in much better damage early on. Later on it could actually hurt your overall damage, depending on your stat allocation.

If you're set on going for a fire bow, go with fire arrows. You wanna focus on doing one damage type really heavily. Make sure you don't use it against fire resistant enemies, since then it will be pretty pointless, and a waste of arrows.

I wouldn't use a longbow at all. Shortbow takes less stamina, and can fire faster.

I use a bow to finish off people in PvP sometimes, or I use it to apply poison in PvE, or snipe in PvE if I don't want to deal with a distant enemy, and cannot lock on. The fastest best bows for this are the shortbow, and then the black bow, due to low stamina consumption, and for the black bow, the super range.

Most people infuse a bow with fire, so they can detonate explosives from a safe distance, even without fire arrows.

Honestly if you have 50 DEX and 50 FTH, you'd probably be better off going with the fire infuse with fire arrows against enemies that are not resistant to it, or weak to that element. As that will give you the highest sheet AR number (Attack Rating). If that's what you're looking for.
