DARK SOULS™ II: Scholar of the First Sin

Zobrazit statistiky:
Best (and worst) elemental damage type for PvE
Update: I didn't expect this to get bumped, but I found a chart on wikidot:
http://darksouls2.wikidot.com/resistance

Just curious if anyone knows which elemental type enemies and bosses are most likely and least likely to be resistant to. I'm not opposed to checking the wiki for an especially difficult boss, but just in general I was wondering if there is a preferred damage type.

I find dark is pretty effective against many bosses, though some are resistant to it. Each boss is different, they all have different resistances, as far as I know there is no "one size fits all" infusion except of course raw for weapons that do not get stat bonus modifiers.
Dark and lightning.
Fire is overall worst, as there are a couple of bosses that are extremely resistant too it.
Lightning and dark (take your pick) both work extremely well against the vast majority of enemies.
elements suck. go for non elemental striking damage. hammers FTW.
My experience is that it depends on how you apply that elemental damage to the enemy. If you are melee and want a weapon buff, simple magic (aromatic ooze) and lightning (gold pine resin) are the best. (Don't infuse the weapon, it'll weaken it, just use these buffing tools.) If you want to shoot stuff, then magic, poison or fire for arrows, dark for spells (a.k.a. hexes).

Raw and/or uninfused + resin of choice.

Infusions will ultimately split your damage in half and lock you down onto one elemental path, unless you use multiple weapons. My Raw Blue Flame has carried me through my NG+ game, and being able to resin/buff it with whatever element and still be able to cast spells has been a blessing.

Yeah. Strike damage is pretty godly in DS2. You can still apply resin to those though.

Interesting. I thought you couldn't buff split damage weapons with resin, but I guess that's only infused split damage and not natural split damage.
Worst element is physical. Best element is lightning.

The first isn't true (imo :3). pure physical is probably the better choice because it's not something every enemy is stupidly resistant to. Besides, infusing something might kill it's scaling.

Nope. Any weapon ( even if you have no scaling) infused with any element thats not physical will always deal more damage than a pure physical weapon. Unless we're talking about santiers spear.

Will it? Maybe it's the split damage, or I just love scaling too much to let it go. Idek then, I'll shut up.

If you have a quality build, it will take away damage.
The sunsword is a perfect example of this. Infusing it makes it 300% weaker.

If your scaling isn't the greatest, best infuse it.

Ahhh. I see. I tend to jump towards weapons with high scaling, by habit. (Loyce Greatsword and sometimes Sunsword are my best friends, and the Drakekeeper's Greataxe and the Fume UGS when i get around to respeccing.)
