Strength Ring vs. Ring of Blades
Whats the difference? Which is better? Im doing a pure power build atm so these two rings are very pertinent..

Well you can check the damage bonus each gives, but here's the real diference.

Got a weapon with really good strength scaling? You'll get a good buff from the strength ring.
Got a weapon with no scaling? The strength ring won't do ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Strength ring gives +5 more strength wheras rob gives a flat damage increase. Each can be good in certain circumstances, but generally as long as you meet the requirements for your weapons, rob will give a much higher damage increase.

Well... I use the Kings Greatsword +5 which has S is strength. I also dump most of my souls into strength, prob around 50.

If you have 40-50 strength, you're better off with RoB due to softcaps.

It really depends on your stats. Generally though, the 50 damage from the rob+2 is most likely going to be more damage then what the +5 strength provides. It also depends on the weapon as well though. If you are using a weapon with elemental damage, the rob will do less damage, in which case the str ring might be better. Most likely though, if your str is above the soft cap, even with S str scaling, it's entirely possible that the rob would be better.

RoB and Flyann and Leo are good at/beyond softcaps too, STR/DEX rings make pretty much no difference then.

Try that combo with pilgrim's spontoon and crystal magic weapon. Become unstoppabble

Thanks. I knew the stas cap at certain numbers, I just didnt know how the rings alter the stas.

RoB is always the better option.
I doubt that you get +50 scaling damage with 5 points more in STR. Maybe for King UGS between 30 and 40 but that's it.

You need 50 STR just to use the weapon... Should I stop raising STR from here on out?

Yes, normally u should stop at 50. You could powerstance it with another weapon (great hammer or ultragreatsword work best) tho. U need 1.5x stat requirements (so basically no DEX and 75 STR).

If all you want is damage then the Strength Ring is useless compared to the Ring of Blade, a +5 increase in str won't be enough to rival 35/50 bonus AR on the RoB+1/2 with the way scaling works.

You are wrong. Strength ring gives very little damage compared to RoB which gives you 50 pure AR to physical damage. Strength ring gives about 10 AR or so. Not worth using instead of RoB.

OP, if you are doing strength build, it's not worth using Ring of blades for 50 AR, you better replace it with some other ring.

The Ring of Blades won't do anything for the Pilgrim's Spontoon because it doesn't have any inherent physical damage.

The only use for Strength Ring i could think off (use a ring slot for scaling from 5 STR? are you high or smth?) is the abilty to add 5 STR in order to be able to use the weapon 1 handed without respec. That`s it.

I`m not sure if we`re talking PVP now, but even if you don`t use RoB is your ring gsetup initially, generally you swap to it from Life+3 before Red/Blue Tearstone, if you want maximum ring usage. The only problem with it is it`s weight (+2) which is 2.0.
