So I go invaded by Bashful Ray the other day.

So about two days ago I was just walking around collecting some souls at Huntsman's Copse and I saw that someone was invading. Turns out it was Bashful ray, an NPC helper that assisted in killing a few bosses with me. He did the usual bow and I prepped for battle. Oddly enough, dropped an item and backed away as if he wanted me to take it. So I picked it up and it was a Bastard Sword +10. That was probably one of the best weapons I have ever gotten in a hours of playing. The damage values were way higher than my drangliec sword by about 100. Now I was confused as hell, how and why would an invading npc drop a weapon for me? I stopped questioning it when we attacked each other. We fought, I died, and i ended up at the bonfire. I checked the wiki and other places and i couldnt find anything about it. Could it be just another player mimicking the NPC? The outtfit, behavior, and attack style matched the NPC. Is it possible?

It was a player cosplaying as an npc who decided he wanted to be nice.

either that or the secret legends of yore are true.

Im pretty sure the weapon was not hacked. It was just a +10 thats all. Thou I could be wrong, who knows?

Problem is that you cant view their character name so that is kind of a dead end.

Couldn't it still be hacked if it's +10 or +100? Hacking is hacking.

Couldn't it still be hacked if it's +10 or +100? Hacking is hacking.

Like i said i could be wrong, But how can i tell that it's hacked?

What is the name of the +10 sword that the invader dropped for you. Some swords only go up to +5.....

After checking the length of the censored word with a list of swords in the game, I found out it's a Bass Tord Sword. I'd say he's fine.

Yea thats it, damn this those hearts blocking my text. But yea its the Basstard sword and im sure it only goes to +10.

items that use twinkling only go up to +5 yeah. If it is hacked and you use it, you will be flaged and moved to the hacked servers with all the other hackers I think.

Wiki says the basstard sword goes to +10, check
