Bonfire Ascetic and Pilgrims of Dark

Do bonfire ascetics affect the pilgims of dark chasm areas? for example if i bur a bonfire ascetic in back gulch

i think they are not affacted by it as i have shaded forest ruins on 2 and i dealt the same amount of damage to the Npc abyss spirits

That doesn't prove anything.

You have to look for HP or the damage you take.

I believe ascetics don't affect the abyss areas, but I've no proof either.

ok thanks for the reply gonna keep it up to solve this mystery once and for all. Someone has the answer for sure. If worst comes to worst Ill test it out

Also, I wonder: if you get summoned via Red Soapstone and you kill the host, do you get the ascetic?

I've been invading to farm ascetics, but once I get out of the populated SM tier, the Red Soapstone might be useful.

1) yes, its like that: you get a token when killing a host via red sign in the "normal" areas like after a sucessful invasion, too

2) you can farm the grey spirits there, with item drop gear they drop them quite frequently.
You can also farm ascetics in aldias keep (2 ascetics per burned ascetic) as a buddy told me.

2) I know about farming the abyss spirits, but it's more fun to invade, hehe. Also, I have been killing Abyss Spirits in the worlds I invade, but I haven't got them to drop ascetics, I wonder if they do.

1) I mean it's the same idea as during a normal invasion. You invade in, let's say iron keep, you get a token. You place a red sign, you get a token, too. So it works like that in the abyss aswell: invasion and red sign offer the same rewards! Sorry if I wrote that too confusingly.

Yeah but does someone have the answer to the original question?

According to the wikidot you need bonfire ascetics in order to respawn the enemies in the Abyss, so most likely they will get similar buffs. Not completely sure though.

You can respawn the abyss by asceticing the "Under Drangleic Castle" bonfire.

ok so that bonfire is the only one that affects the abyss? Or does the one at black gulch affect it too?
