aava is impossible
hardest boss I've ever fought in the entire soul series so far

impossible to gauge the attacks, and you are forced to roll out of basically everything with perfect timing. Stunning how hard this fight is.

every single one of her moves are telegraphed. you just have to watch for the signs and wait for the attack to actually come out. be patient, don't panic roll.

if you can beat the fume knight, you should be able to beat aava.

PS: if you can't stand aava, avoid the frigid outskirts

Instead of rolling out of her attacks, roll into them. More effective.

Also remember, FIRST SWIPE IS DELAYED

Wait until you do the frozen outskirts of hell, to meet the kitty couple living there...

welcome to dark souls DLC. its literally nothing but enemies that can 1-2 shot any character, to create an artificial difficulty.

Get a soul vessel and increase your agility to 105.
It changes the fight from impossible to somewhat difficult.

I love artificial difficulty.

The timing on how to dodge Aava's paw is different from most other enemies, you have to roll very, very late and below her or into the opposite direction of where the paw travels to.

You have to have a good roll to beat her. Don't bother with a shield. She hits so hard that it's pretty pointless unless you've got crazy stamina. I would two hand your main or dual wield. She probably took me the longest to beat out of any boss. Follow Sephyrias' advice on the rolls. If you're having problems with her projectiles, sprint behind her butt when she starts charging it. It's safe and you can get some damage in.

That 180 swipe of hers was the bane of my existence...

get ready for the boss fight after that where you gotta fight two of them at the same time

Just... making sure here but you DID get the Priestess' Eye key item right? Because if you don't, then Aava is permanently invisible. Once you get the eye, you can see Aava and the attacks are easily telegraphed and dodged, especially the magic. You should almost never get hit, unless you're fat rolling which is bad. Reduce below 75% carry weight and normal roll to victory.

Yeah I got the eye, but still I'm not used to having to roll so much. I've gotten through most of the game by blocking, and avoiding any risk associated with rolling. As such my rolling skill is quite mediocre so this boss is near impossible for me.
