Black steel katana
So i've been farming a lot Alonne knights at iron keep but i only get his armor parts but no katana right now im lv 100 and have soul memmory of 891932 can someone explain or if someone is on the same lv and have 2 katanas to spare I will apreciate it so much :steamhappy:

This katana is not worth the effort inmo, very slow moveset, no benefit over the easily acquired Uchikatana. I upgraded one to +10, to immediately abandion it, as it seemed worse in every way to my +10 lightning Uchikatana

first: EVERY KATANA HAS THE SAME SWING SPEED. Not looking at the R2s since they're unique.

Second, Blacksteel Katana is a DEX weapon - S scaling. With high DEX it's stronger than the Uchigatana, but after an infusion the scaling drops drastically, so there's no big difference. The Uchi isn't much better or much worse, the biggest difference is the moveset, I prefer the Blacksteel's over any other katana.

Third, the Chaos Blade is probably the strongest katana due to the 160 counter strength. It drains your HP a bit with every successful hit, making it a not so good choice for PvE unless you're wearing the Ring of Evil Eye.

Fourth, the Blacksteel's R2s (best when 2h'ed) can be free-aimed really, really good and get a noticable speedup after rolling and running attacks for instance.

This. Nice to see someone that knows what they are talking about. Also the BS Katana is well worth the time.

I will never understand why kids are so facanated by katanas. It isnt even that good of a pvp weapon.

Not the Blacksteel moveset.

With the exception of Bewitched Alonne, they all have the same R1s, which are just quick enough to trade with practically every other weapon on the game.

Uhh dont farm in you first NG it will just inflate you SM, wait until NG+ where you can get all the item discovey stuff also all the other things in NG+ only.

Japanese anime, full stop. How many people have run into Bleach (Ichigo) cosplays since the game's been out? Seriously, it has gotten to the point where I can make a drinking game out of Iron Bridge PvP.

Almost noone has it as a cosplay tho, most of the time it's just used in combination with jester's due to the counter damage
