The 2h rolling attack is fantastic for roll catching on most greatswords, and with swords like the Drakeblood, Watcher, and Charred Loyce, the heavy 2h attack is similar but slightly differently timed to the 2h rolling attack and can be mixed up for even better roll catches that do more dmg.
The 1h weak attacks are great for ground control and can be spammed, and the reach of the weapon class, the thrust attacks and the middling weight of most greatswords make them all-round amaizng weps.
one advantage greatswords have is the length and the poise break being generally higher.
but remember, the tracking on straightswords are broken as hell. Its a tough weapon to fight against.
I'm currently trying to run a fast, hard-hitting build. Would you suggest a longsword over a greatsword, or vice versa?
in pvp, as much as I hate to say it, longswords are powerful as hell. use it if you want easy, no sweat wins.
It is up to preference, but If I had to pick I'll take that Bastard Sword.
