Unable to connect to the Dark Souls 2 servers [FIXED]

I just bought Scholar of the First Sin during the steam sale and as soon as i booted it up i was unable to connect to the servers. I wrote this off as them being down but now my friends are able to play online just fine but i still can't connect. I have no clue what to do, any suggestions/help much appreciated.

Update: Turned off some security settings on mm router and it turns out comcast was blocking the DS2 servers, ♥♥♥♥ comcast.

I have been trying for a solid 2 hours now, even reinstalled the game, my friends got on first time so i'm not sure that will help.

Made sure of that too, forwarded the ports recomended on the support site and even created inbound/outbound rules to allow DS2 through. I am so lost.

I also had that issue, but it fixed itself. I just choose to play offline. After playing offline for a while, I quit playing and then return to main menu, I tried reconnecting again....after a few minutes, voila! I successfully able to connect to the DS2 servers.

hmm thanks, i'll try over the next couple of days before directly contacting support.

My brother has the same problem! I can connect perfectly, but he can't connect with the damn servers :( I hope there is a solution...
