To trigger the save, do I have to move forward to the next boss? I didn't really advance after he fell off, I just turned around
then why didn't it save after the boss fell off the cliff? Is it because I did not kill him properly? Honestly wondering because what you just said is contradictory to what I experienced, thanks
Only a small handful of enemies don't respawn after death, whatever you killed was just a normal enemy.
What I was referring to is literally the first enemy you encounter in the whole game. Sorry, I called him a boss because he's hard AF to beat for me. I see, normal enemies respawn after death. Question solved! 😁 Maybe I should just run by the small guys if they keep respawning anyway?
If anything, if you're playing the game for the first time, you should try fighting for the extra souls, potential loot and most importantly, gameplay experience and DS2 does throw you a bone by de-spawning regular enemies eventually, so it won't become too much of a slog.
And yes, running past some\many\most mob enemies is a well-worn Dark Souls tradition. Good luck.
But besides specific places I have often found them incredibly competent at just navigating maps most of the times (not counting them attacking themselves off edges dragon rider style).
