Perfect ADP level?
I know i have like 60 hours on this game but i didn't level my ADP last playthrough and now i realized how important it is, so i'm starting fresh.

It's your AGL that matters, affected by attunement too but mostly ADP.
Just hit a good AGL breakpoint depending on your character's level (92,96,99 or even above)

Reach first 89 Agility, then 92 and 96 - this would be enough to beat full game with all bosses included.
Its roughly 20 ADP. Use this tool to check it.

~20 adp is okay, but honesly i push most of my characters to ~35 and the speed is pronounced.

To put this into perspective; 105 AGL is like a fast roll in DS1 or DS3. It simply never hurts going for 99 AGL (12 iframes) or 105 AGL (13 iframes). Anything in-between won't do much. 100 AGL is another breakpoint for backstepping iframes and the hardcap for the speed in which you use consumable items, but if you go past 99, you may as well go for 105 too. There are also items, that boost your Agility, if equipped, like the Peasant-set or Mad Warrior Mask. You can even get past 96 AGL at SL1 just by equipping the right items.

Just consult the wiki for all the important Agility breakpoints:

Thanks everyone.

Never understood the craze with leveling adaptability. You don't need Adaptability to enjoy the game. If you are good at dodging, Agility is not an issue even at base level.

i honestly do it more for the speed healing boost.

let me dredge up the real effects:
ADP gives Agility, raises all Status defenses, and minor bonus to HP and Poison attack. Pairing ADP and END (like Faith and Int for Dark) boosts natural poise.

Agility gives:
Estus consumption animation (its appx 20% faster at 39 ADP)
Stagger recovery speed when Poise is broken
Natural poise
Increased effectiveness of Poise granted from armor
Additional invincibility frames while rolling and backstepping

After leveling up ADP, i did a quick comparison between my new save and my old one. My old save took around 5 seconds just to restore my health!

Also considering how the health "regenerates" rather than restoring like in other souls' games, i counted that as within the timer.

Stats difference between 3.7 seconds and 2.3 seconds +- for estus chugging.

i have over 700 hours on steam and console. I for one have never put a point into ADP, I think just timing your rolls is the move.

Again, I don't even need adaptability. Pick better windows to chug.

its kind of a moot point anyways y'all. nobody out here is doing SL150 meta PvP builds in DS2 anymore, everyone is SL200+, if not 500+. Literally nobody needs to minmax that hard. At those higher levels, it genuinely is a better investment of points to throw some in ADP rather than maxing any stat to 99 (due to diminishing returns.) For example, it's one point HP per point of VIG after 60, 2 points of HP per ADP up to its cap of 60 (plus the other assorted bonuses ADP gives. Honestly this just goes for endgame levelling, just throw points into your lowest stat till you hit 60s all the way down.
You can play the game without putting a single point into ADP, it's valid. Just as valid as playing it any other way.
*Need* isn't the right word when talking about ADP, it's "useful." The same way I look at miracles in DS2. Need? Nah! Useful as ♥♥♥♥ in quite a few situations? Yup!

I really miss when the DS2 pvp community was at its strongest,. Iron Bridge PVP is still the best PVP era of the entirety of the FromSoft PVP history.

i agree. i remember the hours and hours of fight clubs, some random would invade and try and go for host, all the reds gank him and get back to the duels. everyone huddled around the warmth on the little nook there. loved it.

DS2 PVP was the peak for this serie's PVP imo.
I remember playing with a few guys back on PS3 and we made a fan covenant called The Hobos, Melentia was our covenant leader, we would PVP using only broken weapons and wore drags. One of us became the Hobo fairy soup king and wore the butterfly wing set and powerstanced laddles lmfaoooo.

man, what a time.
