The one which isn't modded and has a bunch of wierd random stuff added to it.
Is there even a doubt?

the only people that hate SOTFS are the ones who played vanilla DS2 originally, scholar added more enemies and made some changes that arent really good, but scholar is the way to go for anything multiplayer as im pretty sure vanilla ds2 got its servers taken down

And this is why I see people's playing Seeker Of Fire Because feels so much better and more challenging

Vanilla servers are still up.
It is just DS PTDE that never got its servers back.
Seeker of Fire should be played after Scholar to really appreciate all the changes

If I am not mistaken SOTFS is regarded as being more challenging with all the added enemies

vanilla is noticeably more of an unfinished game than scholar, areas are more empty and theres less items scattered around, scholar also added the DLC keys (in order to access the DLC areas) throughout the world organically where vanilla just instantly gives them to u after making ur character
scholar is just hated on because in an attempt to make the world less empty they decided to double or triple the amount of enemies in areas and increase their aggro range, aside from that its more of an upgrade than a downgrade, not to mention theres more players in scholar

i played scholar first and after beating all dark souls games went to vanilla to see what its like and it really does just feel unfinished, it was interesting seeing different enemy and item placements but thats about it

SotFS of course.

Challenging? From what i seen they make already simple ds2 even easier, then before. You can make the same build that deals triple damage compared to original game when health bars stays the same. Oh and they "fixed" tracking on all heavy weapons. You can literally turn 180 degree in a single hit.

Seeker of fire makes ds2 too easy

Couldn't have said it better myself. You should play SOTFS first then Seeker of Fire for another fresh experience. The mod is meant to throw curve balls at veteran players for as if it was their first playthrough again. Then you can admire the level of appreciation of all the surrounding changes in the mod.

That said if you want a "less" brutal Ds2 experience, I recommend Player Enhancements mod which adjusts gameplay mechanics akin to modern souls games.

Otherwise no mods if you want it to be harder

I don't really agree with too much with this statement. Seeker of Fire makes the overall world a bit more forgiving but boss fights a little more challenging and unpredictable at times. However the easier aspect also is a given to the fact that the player has been given overall buffs.

I wouldn't even call this a fix, more like a preference. I really hate the world "fix" since it feels im anti ds2 but in reality its my favorite game. That being said though, its actually a 360 degree turn on a majority of most of the weapons. I've mentioned this but I made the mod to be a bit more modern with the other games. Giving the player the ability to freely swing wherever direction they want is a win in my book. Preference of course.
