No worries, I just hate getting an answer to a question about weapons that say my choice isn't worthwhile without giving me an alternative to shoot for, and even more so when that alternative doesn't work for my build once I get it.
The haberd isn't garbage, but does have a major flaw. There is a limited zone where it does full damage (you need to hit the enemy with the head of the halberd). That said, it has a nice varied moveset, and deals a fair amount of damage (though i would use the roaring halberd if you are going with some kind of magic and the mastadon halberd otherwise (with the possible exception of the black knight halberd for a melee/pyromancer build).
Honestly if you like the Twinblades, just go ahead and up the regular twinblade to +10 and use it with the stone ring until you get the Santier Spear, Stone Twinblade, or Curved Twinblade (depending on preference and build), then go ahead and add poison or bleed to the +10 Twinblade to use as an alt weapon. There isn't anything wrong with the twinblades in general, it is just that the dragonrider's twinblade isn't especially good and needs petrified dragon bones to level up and they are particularly limited in a single run without burning aestics or doing obscene amounts of small white soap-stone co-ops.
I recommend the Stone Twinblade. It also upgrades with normal titanite. That's always a good thing. It looks better than the others, too, but that's just my opinion.
I agree with you there, with the one privision being; if you wanted to make a high dex build. The Stone Twinblades just are not top of the line as a dex user (though, one of the major issues with the game currently is the disparity between strength scaling and dex scaling, this is likely the reason behind the damage dropoff between the two twinblades). That said, I personally would recommend never going pure dex as your primary attribute. You either want to go quality or pick up an element to buff with.
