if you're still using keyboard and have half of the amount of str or dex, added to the amount that is needed to use it, then hold N with another weapon that you also have half of the amount added to, then it should work. like if the weapon needs 50 str, you would need to have 75 in order to powerstance it along side the dex that is needed as well

In my setup, which I believe is the default, is press and hold ctrl + middle mouse button.
You can play this game with key and mouse and be good at it too.
