If you'd like the chest items without the Ascetic/NG+1, somebody could probably also drop you those items as a phantom summon. If your Soul Memory isn't above 400k I wouldn't mind giving you mine.
The Soul Memory thing shouldn't be an issue for you, but I keep my characters capped at a low Soul Memory for silly reasons (there's a ring which stops the player from getting souls). I say below 400k because I could boost my Souls to that level with items quickly to get within your Summon Range, above 400k+ it would be possible for me but a little inconvenient for time.
But genuinely, don't worry about losing souls. I even lost some recently because I didn't know what to spend it on yet (carried 2k safely from Harvest Valley to the endgame, lost it on the platform jump in Memory of Orro, died inside to enemy then slipped the drop onto platform, 2k lost out of my 109k allowance D; ), it happens. A normal player will reach 1-2 million Soul Memory, and if you browse other discussions, plenty of people are 5million+, the further you get the less it matters, at that point +1 level might be like 60k+ souls, for maybe 1 more damage, wow.
Only reason to keep a low Soul Memory is if you want to co-op/invade in the early game areas, but it's a very restrictive thing to do, fun for a side character. Otherwise just get big and get strong, Soul Memory sucks but if you don't co-op regularly it shouldn't affect you at all.
The pvp does not interest me so much I confronts the invaders for the form but I will not have fun to do the 500 kill is much too long. The age of the game also plays.
Platform jump scare me in this game it’s crazy xD I don’t know if you’ll understand with my bad English. but there is an area with fire salamanders the ground is on fire clearly but it does not burn, after lady snake there is a lava area naturally I go to the loot of the skeleton (on a platform that looks like the area of the salamanders) and the, I burn completely impossible to recover my 50K soul I tried to bring my soul to the edge but I burn too fast it is abused, this kind of detail drives me crazy... if I would have burned in the salamander zone I would have understood that it was a danger... well anyway it’s dark soul 2 after all.
Thank you for the information I will get back into the game after my ridiculous death.
There's actually a key in the Lava place that gives you easy access to the Salamander pit, so technically you've done it in reverse order (maybe you jumped down with cat ring or jumped through the hole to the cave like I do). But I get what you mean, it's similar fiery-rock terrain but Iron Keep's lava platforms just disintegrate you mercilessly (at least you get to learn next to a bonfire).
A lot of items floating on lava platforms are for Pyromancy, I got burned too many times so I don't bother picking them up anymore in many playthroughs - you need silly high fire resistance to survive or I think blocking using a fire-resistant shield works? For some people, they come back later to pick up those lava items before they start NG+.
Enjoy the game, it has many problems but ultimately it's a good experience, feels unique. Every time I take a break, playing again exhausts me mentally, every death I say "I knew I shouldn't have done that" but it's still my favourite Dark Souls. It makes me happy that Dark Souls 2 still has a lot of people playing it.
I like to start with the most fun, I passed in the area with a plunge attack on the salamander, I’m too poor to buy the cat ring x) but yeah do a trick like that in the lava area after a boss... so a lot of soul... In addition I had 26k before the boss I just wanted to reset my stock but I forgot
I equipped myself with the ring of fire precisely to recover my souls but it did absolutely nothing change xD it’s probably only for fire-type attacks
