How do you get to the Executioner's Chariot fight without despawning all the enemies first?

Did they change something? I don't remember those bullcrap enemies following me all the way to the boss gate! And since you're not invincible using gates in this game, i can't start the fight...

What gives?

Do they follow yearn or alluring skulls? I might get that, but still, what the hell?
I just want to farm the lizard staff...

Their aggro triggers don't quite overlap, so if you tiptoe forward you can aggro each of the enemies and fight them one by one.

Ahh, there's you're problem right there!

You're intended to Fight the enemies, not run past them. Running past them will only get you killed.

Approach the bridge cautiously, take them down one encounter at a time. if you accidentally go to far and pull too many, don't be afraid to sprint back to an area you've already cleared to make some distance between you and them for healing or picking them off.

If they're still giving you trouble, remain persistent, and eventually they will stop spawning, so you won't need to worry about them anymore.

Also, inside the small dome building directly opposite the first bridge is Bashful Ray's small white summon sign. He can help a bit plus he is a good distraction.

i ended up running and jumping on the platform to the right of the bridge right before the boss fog wall, they will eventually back away or you can pick them off with ranged abilities.

I know how to aggro them one by one and how to fight them, i was just hoping to avoid it while farming for the lizard staff. There's just 2 sorcerers there and i have to run back after each kill to respawn them. Was hoping i don't have to despawn all the enemies up to the gate.

I already finished the game this playthrough, i'm just doing NG+ prep, and i forgot about the staff so i had to ascetic the boss. But that of course respawned all the enemies up to the bridge. I already fought them once and despawned them lol, did some farming on them for souls, i don't want to do it again. And i seem to remember there's a way to just run past, but i guess not.

When you kill the Necromancers in there, instead of Aged Feather/Homeward Bone you can ESC -> Exit Game and it'll spit you out at the fog gate when you Continue Game, boss room will reset so you can go in and farm much quicker.

I suppose the above suggestion is probably valid if you don't want to fight the Torturers. However, I would personally just fight them regardless to get them out of the way, as chances are you're gonna be doing way more than twelve runs to the Executioner Chariot's arena just for farming the Lizard Staff — And you don't want to deal with the Torturers more times than necessary, do you?

Well, after despawning all the enemies (without going to the boss, just despawning them), it took me all of 3 tries to get the staff lol.
