1. Press start (windows), type "msconfig" in the search bar and then hit enter.
2. Under the "Services" tab, scroll down to "Windows Event Log" and uncheck it.
3. Hit apply and OK, then restart the computer and try to launch the game again.
Or try this:
1. Right-click on your desktop, then open NVIDIA Control Panel
2. Head to "Manage 3D Settings" > Program Settings > Select Dark Souls (darksouls.exe), or add it if it isn't there.
3. Select the preferred graphics processor for the program: "Integrated Graphics"
Then the game launches properly.
4. In the menu PC Settings, change it to Fullscreen and select your resolution
5. Quit the game
Open NVIDIA Control Panel again and this time select High-performance NVIDIA Processor and you're done.
Dark Souls: Remastered, DS3 and DS2: Scholar of the First Sin require a DirectX 11-capable graphic's card and your issue is similar to trying to launch those on older GPU's, only supporting the DX10 feature-set or older.
