Smelter Demon (DLC Crown of the Old Iron King) How to get to the ranged attackers on the way to the blue smelter demon

After the area with all the elevators that are formed like big stone soldiers you get to this bonfire:

from there I started to go to the blue smelter demon boss. You get attacked by ranged mages and the archers who carry fire swords. Thy are standing elevated in upper areas. I thought I can get there after defeating the boss but after I did it I still can't find a way up there.

How do I get there? There is loot and stuff it can be accessed.

Do you notice the lever you can pull which raises a bunch of gates for a temporary time, followed by a statue blasting fire at you? Yeah, you have to make it through that chaos as fast as you can.
