Found out how to resurrect NPCs that you've killed (does not involve starting New Game +)

Alright so I found out how to resurrect NPCs without starting a new game +, but it involves using cheat engine. I know mentioning cheat engine is of a sensitive nature. Regardless, I will say that from my experience, it's safe and I haven't gotten a ban from my game. Two things I will say before I give out this method.

1. I DO NOT condone the actions of people using cheat engine to ruin other players' experiences online.

2. Do this at your own risk. I did this offline and had no problem. Still, again, do this at your own risk. Also if you are intending to use cheat engine for other things, please do your research about the risks before doing them. I am not responsible for any mistakes you make.



Alright so now that that's out of the way, I'll list the steps. Pretty easy I would say once you figure it out.


1. Download cheat engine 6.4. Google and download. You may have to turn off your antivirus security to download this, but I promise you, it's safe.

2. Google "dark souls 2 cheat engine". You should see a link there somewhere that has "github" on it. Click that link and scroll down a bit to where it says "General Tables" Look at where it says "Scholar of the first sin". Right click the first link and choose, "Save target as" and put it into a folder that you know.

3. The file you download will be an xml file. You are going to need to change the file extention to .CT. Google search on how to change file extentions according to your OS.

4. Last, load up steam offline, and launch scholar of the first sin. Next, drag the CT file to cheat engine, click the flashing computer icon on the top left corner, and click dark souls II.exe. Then on the bottom of cheat engine, click enable > world> revive NPC, then check revive and npc name. You will also have to edit the value of the NPC that died. The NPC has two numbers to the right of it. Right click, click change values, then type in 00.


5. After that, use a bonfire ascetic in the area close to where the NPC is, and walk back to where the NPC. He should respawn.




That's it. I hope I've helped you guys. Let me know how it works out. I don't take credit for this btw as I dont know the original author of the file.

Well you can, but the reason I post this is that some NPCs have questlines, or have ways in which they can expand their inventory, but if you kill them their questlines are cut off. Maughlin the Armorer for instance expands his inventory if you pay him 16,000 souls. I happened to kill him before that to get his tseldora armor. Since he was dead, I couldn't expand his inventory. Reasons like this are why I mentioned this method.

Well idk, people may still be interested in Dark souls 2. A lot of people are still interested in 1 after 2 came out. I know 2 gets a lot of flak, but still, it's a very good game.
