Knights of Eleum Loyce are useless
Am I the only one that thinks the White Loyce Knights are literally useless? All of the Charred knights still chase after me and only me, while the white knights just circle around with shields raised. Their AI is worse than Lucatiel's even. They never attack, and when they do, it barely does any damage. Also apparently the human effigy's effects can wear off and I was invaded while writing this. FML

EDIT

I searched my symptoms on the internet and apparently I suffer from something called "Bad RNG", and high levels of butthurt. Knights came around and actually started doing something. One of the better fights in the game

Yes the human effigy effect wears off everyone knows that. Loyce knights aren't there to just fight the charred knights, and you should run off as much if you do so then you become the focus and the knights don't do their job which is to freeze the gates.

It's kinda difficult to fight, what, 12? Charred Loyce Knights alone. And whats the reasoning behind all the knights going for me only? They literally don't care about the other guys at all

4 at once. Unless you're slow as ♥♥♥♥ and have to deal with the respawning ones before defeating the first 4 spawns. Also the number is reduced with each wave since the white knights freeze the portals. At the end no more charred knights appear and you've even 1 knight as support against the actual boss.

So what exactly are you talking about? They're GREAT!

That is true yes, but most of them die before they have a chance so seal the portals, and if they do seal them all, the last one always dies and I have to kill about 3-4 knights alone

Weird, they never died all in my experience, never ever. I really never had to fight the charred knights alone...

Sounds like sheer bad luck. In my experience, the charred knights get busy with the white knights regularly.

Literally a second ago, all three of them ran straight to me while the white knights did, well, nothing. Just circled around
It varies but sometimes the A.I. is really spot on and two of the loyce knights will stunlock one charred knight which should allow you to kill it in one or two hits if you have a fully upgraded greatsword or something similar. Magic and pyromancy are not that great in most dlc areas.

It is correct, that you will be priority target for the charrred knights in a solo run against the Ivory King.
But in general they tend to be quite sturdy enough to see through the end and all that pulling of the charred knights gets them some free chip damage in.

they also love to backstep so you can exploit that, just watch out for the king flying in to knock you off :P

1) they are not useless, actually having all 4 of them is incredibly useful in the boss fight (3 of them close the portals meaning no Charred Knights appear and the last one, at least for me, was instantly aggro'd by the Ivory King, meaning I managed to get him down to 75% of his health before the boss murdered the brave knight)

2) yes the Charred Knight still target you and only you, but the Ice Knights form a physical barrier between them and you. In my fight, even if there was always a bunch of charred knights around, I only had to fight one or two (maybe 3 at most at times) at a time, the others were kept away by the ice knights which were phiscally preventing them from reaching me

If you aren't doing it already, parry the charred knights. The riposte animation should give you a couple seconds where you take ~90% less dmg and afterwards if its not dead yet, the riposted charred knight will be laying on the ground for a few more seconds.

Real handy for controlling the pace of the fight since you can prioritize which knights you want to actually fight (or flee from) on-the-fly and ripostes take huge chunks of their hp if you have an ultra or even just a lightning dagger
