I Killed The Last Sinner And Didn't Get His Soul

Why is that?! I want to pass thorugh the shrine of winter but the soul isn't even in my inventory (and I'm almost 100% sure I didn't consume it)

As far as I am concerned as long as you at least kill all 4 old ones you can go through shrine of winter into drangleic castle.

well i defeated the 4 great souls and i cant get into the shrine (it tells me to produce the king symbol or whatever)
