Blue Flame is so HNNNG.
Using em on a melee intelligence build and it's soooo good. Good AR, good moveset, catalyst + weapon: pretty much on par with the clerics candlestick from dks3.

Switch it out with MLGS from time to time and use a fire-infused Magic parry shield (for the extra fire defense), AND use great magic shield on it. This build becomes so versatile. Love it.

The Magic Shield has to be a Magic Magic Shield yo casul.

That said the BF has the classes worst 1hR1s and no awesome R2 like the Heide Sword. Very onesided. These hybrids aren't really complex, besides stuff like R1 R1 into Soul Greatsword, but to each their own.

I basically never use small shields or straight swords. I'm just happy this thing doesn't seem to eat through durability too quickly.

Blue Flame does pretty solid damage for Int builds, especially when buffed. A great hybrid weapon. Yeah, it's moveset blows, but the damage offsets it.

Have armor/rings to offset the slow cast speed, and it can take you far.

I'm using the Bluestone ring +2, intelligence ring, and some other ones I can't recall at the moment. Also, I thought the cast speed was already pretty quick on its own? It seems to be alright at about 24 att.

The BF is very buffreliant to deal the serious damage.
No buff, poor damage especially on spells. No reason to pick it over a Longsword honestly.

Except that it's just about the only one that casts spells.
