Majula is perfect because it wants to welcome you as a home for you to rest from your trip. Thanks to the atmosphere, music, NPCs... And you have an adorable CAT to talk, C'MON! XD
As Anor Londo first bonfire - one minute of running without enemies and another minute, against gargoyle which dissapear after one death. Or Lost Isalith hallways. Or beach walk to the Dragon covenant.
More of that, Firelink Shrine bonfire also can fade away, and there is multiple NPC to accidently hit and aggo them.
I would compare Firelink Shrine as living under the bridge while been homeless. Not completely safe, multiple weird strangers with malicious intends, unconsistant bonfire and multiple ways to flee.
Hunters Dream being a close second. HD would be my number one if it was connected with the world and had more NPC interactions.
DSIII and ER really missed the mark with what made the Hub areas such an integral and beloved part of the earlier games.
