DARK SOULS™ II: Scholar of the First Sin

Dark Souls 2 NPC invaders overpowered?
I've completed the game a few times now but I always felt like the NPCs were overpowered at least 50% of the time. Not to mention they can do what you can't, they can cancel a move and their blades literally stick to you, the further into the game you get, the more obscene damage they do. They have super human reactions too that the player could NEVER emulate no matter how good his/her adaptability stat was. Backstab you might say? Yeah you can some of them, but 70% of them just roll and IMMEDIATELY attack you with a 4 swing combo afterwards to take advantage of the obscene input lag in this game...
Basically I always feel like I'm sat in a Ford Focus racing a Mustang round a race track, yeah you might win...but only if that Mustang makes a critical balls up of things.

Also did Vendrick get a buff? He's one shotting me. He's pretty easy to dodge 90% of the time but those side swings are brutal. I don't remember him being half this hard last time I fought him!

Maldron is that f*cking annoying runner with a Heide Greatlance & Rebel's Greatshield (with unlimited stamina...) who invades in the Brume Tower and is standing there in Lower Eleum Loyce with the White Ring without any invasion-message.

Yeah. The main problem is his constant running/chugging when his health drops low (definitely annoying). But at least by the time you face him, you are capable of dishing out a lot of damage.

That's when you use a seed of giants when he runs down haha.

It does not work. He is not invader, he is enemy like any other mob, in 3rd DLC only of course.
As for NPC invaders, if I had such tracking as Maldron on greatlance, damage like Fencer Sharon so early in game or the slut in second DLC, dark place with exploding fat guys(forgot the name). The last NPC i mention was able to 3 shot me with 2k hp and medium armor :)

I was referring to Maldron running in the 2nd DLC.
Easy way to beat them, stunlock them with a two-handed Great Club weapon strong attack, works like a charm.

Yeah but we aren't all going to have a great club at hand are we? What if we're mage or a ranger type build? Then what?

I guess, you simply...learn how to deal with invaders....somehow....potentially by improving your...skills.

Heh...yeah I suppose you could say that. I can deal with them, I just think a lot of them were largely pointless intrusions. Anyway, you get the drift.

Just... shoot him with strong spells...? I mean killing runners is what mages can do the best.
Archers are kind of screwed, but it's not the most viable build at any point in the game, more like the opposite - it's just handicapping yourself.

Yeah you can shoot them for about 60% of the game, after that their health bar grows and they just block and you end up taking off 112 damage off a 3000 strong health bar with dark orb and a fully upgraded sunset staff so...yeaaaahhh.
It's like the only way after a while is to backstab these jackasses.
Like Malcolm Fraser said, "Life wasn't meant to be easy."
We've struggled through these "annoying farts" for ages yet we succeed in the end comrades.

*sniff*....I know man

*bawls into fits of crying*
It's all fun and games until you get 3 of these f.ckers in row in same area. Curse you, Iron Keep! Thankfully 2/3 invaders AI borked up and they decided to hug me instead of going stabby stabby.
If you're good at parrying they're all a joke, no exceptions. Because the ones that can't be parried are too slow, and the ones that can die in 2 or 3 ripostes.

Don't laugh at me here, but I literally cannot parry at all in DS2...DS1? no problem, but the DS2 parry timing is just...well who are we kidding here it's absolutely well off the mark.
DS3 isn't much better, but I don't play DS3 anyway.
