Hush - Useless?

Hi,

in DS1 AND DS3 the most helpful PVE ring to me was the Slumbering DC Ring, as it allowed me to go unnoticed through the levels and backstab at my hearts content.

Seeing as it doesn't exist in DS2 i wanted to use the Hush Spell for equal results. Yet it doesn't seem to work at all (wearing cloth e.g. hexer robe). Everything still notices me and is alarmed immediately... am i doing sth wrong or is it just baad?

The best option I've found is Yearn. It doesn't work with all enemies, but you can use it to just run half the game.

hush and the slumbering dragon ring (which is the rank 3 reward for the rat servant convenant in DS2) do not work on ANY PVE enemy in DS2 sadly, neither does the silver talisman or the chameleon spell

Haven't tried for myself yet, but apparently, the wiki states that chameleon/silver talismans will help in ice pony land during the blizzards. Stand perfectly stillafter you've transformed and you won't spawn any.

Even without stealth-related spells/items for PvE use, you can easely run past most of the PvE enemies anyways, once you're familiar with an area.
