Is it worth going for a quality build just for the Fume UGS?

So, I finished DS1 with a quality build (though I didn't know it was called like that), using a scythe and pyromancies. I wanted to try something else for DS2.

I first went for a hexer, but heh... Boring. So I rerolled, this time aiming to be your average badass knight wearing a heavy armor and a UGS. I got 40 STR, VIT and STA, then realized that, no matter how much points I'd put in the stat that increases your weight load, I could never fast roll without rings.

So, since the Greatsword scales with DEX, and since the Fume UGS seems to be the only UGS better than the Greatsword, I reached 40 DEX. But, now, I feel disheartened, because my damage output barely increased between SL 75 and SL150.

All in all, if I really want to use big ass weapons, shouldn't I have put all my points in STR and maybe ADP, instead of 40/40 STR/DEX? Or should I skip the STR UGS entirely, because, let's face it, they're not that good, and go for a weapon that hits faster and scales better with DEX and STR ?

Have you tried powerstancing lightning greatswords? They are really fun.

go for blue Smelter Demon UGS, its better than Fume UGS and it weights less

If you want a good big weapon did you try greathammers?
and did you know you can relocate your stats in this game

srsly, the Greataxe and the UGS are awesome, the UGS needs to be farmed tho

40 dex for fugs is just wasted. Stick to 30.

It's the best ugs simply because it doubles as a greatshield and it's got a stupid glitch which makes it pretty broken in pvp.

It has the highest physical ar you'll ever see on an ultra so yeah... Technically you could go with another ultra and infusions plus buff to temporarily skyrocket your damage, but eh.

Also, leveling dex for the greatsword, biggest facepalm in my life

Doesnt the Kings UGS beat it for best damage? Fume is still the best in pvp though.

yeah okay I'm talking about the "ultra" ultras not the hybrid stuff, Kings UGS is an GAxe to me.

Ok, thanks for the tips. I'll respec and stick with the minimum dexterity for the GS until I get the Fume UGS. But what about the BKUGS ?

Another thing. How do I increase my poise? Because right now, I get poised all the time by pretty much any mob, despite wearing a medium armor (aurious set). Increasing ADP only increases poise by 0.3 or 0.5 each point. I read everywhere that having 100 or so is required. But I'll never reach that without a heavier armor.

Bkugs isn't anything special. Innate split damage, scaling all across the board. Kinda meh.

Why even ask a question when you answer it yourself? Put on heavy armor. There's also a ring which increases it, depending on version plus 10, 20 or 30 iirc.
