Dexterity gives Poison BNS at a rate of 0.75x per level
Adaptability gives Poison BNS at a rate of 0.25x per level
You should strive to reach 40 Dexterity and 15/20/24 for ADP, depends if you want 92/96/99 agility, which you can optimize on your own.
Other weapons are certainly better at proccing poison, Pate's Spear for instance is a popular choice.
Poison Arrows have a flat 300 Poison Aux and as far as I'm aware, this aux can't be boosted.
Make good use of Dung Pies (Rat King sells them), as they will inflict toxic on enemies and will only inflict poison on you if it procs.
Some more poison pointers in additional to the post above:
Hope this helps.
I'm currently working on a poison build video right now and it takes around 3 hits with heide sword to poison most people.
There are two shields that help with discovery. And the ring of course.
very important
I farmed heide full set, immediately after leaving things brexit, joined CoC simply to make enemies unlimited, WITHOUT discovery items, since I made an oath not to move from this bonfire unless I had whole set

i was SL 86 when I got full set

- Jester's Hat (sold by Magerold) or Symbol of Avarice (found in a frozen chest in Eleum Loyce)
- Prisoner's Tatters Torso (drops from raggedy hollow dudes)
- Watchdragon Parma (dropped by the dragon in Heide)
- Covetous Gold Serpent Ring +2 (drop from Belfry Gargoyles on bonfire intensity 2+)
- Rusted Coin (lasts for a few minutes, does not stack with itself)
