I would of liked Sorceries in DS3 if they didn't hit like a wet noodle until endgame.
DS2 Most variety.
I dont play ds3 too much, but for me at least magic is either expensive in terms of investment, or OP, makes situation similar to ds1 magic.
You not only spend your attunement slots and stat investment into faith/intelligence, but also sacrifice estus for that deal. And every type of magic regeneration its just pathetic or useless to even try out.
Compare to ds2 you have multiple hats for mages, herbs, ability to get +3 slots ring really early in the game and a lot of resources for any type of experiment with weapons.
DS3 is the worst one and basically only enjoyable if you only start using it in NG+/respec late game
Damage - Demon’s and Dark Souls. With just a couple items you become insanely overpowered.
DS2 has the most variety, and in my opinion offers the most balanced approach. Miracles really, really suck though.
DS3 is a pyromancers dream, but the rest of the magic is fairly ho-hum and the game itself is dull.
DS2 sits somewhere in the middle. You have pyromancies for great utlity, but fire-damage is commonly resisted (even more at the DLC) and there's no pyromancer starting class with the Pyro Flame being gated behind Flexile Sentry.
Then there are bonkers sorcery and hexes, like "Crystal Soul Spear" (farmable) and "Climax" or utility ones, such as "Dark Fog" or the OP "Yearn"-sorcery. But then there are lackluster miracles overall. Fine for a co-op-centric build (AoE heals/buffs), but undercut by Melentia selling infinite Lifegems and mediocre offensive options until lategame, where you can brute-force a decent amount of casts with more ATTN-slots or Herb-farming.
That being said, ds2 is the best
15 Mana for critical strikes and ring slot...just why???
The least you could do is read the replies. Everyone has been reasonable, thus far.
And Elden Ring i think it has potencial, we will see.
Pyromancies are quite alright (Pyromancies only runs was cool idea), there are some good offensive and defensive choices. Except some copies of spells are hard to obtain.
Miracles. Only defensive/healing parts are good. The offensive spells are a bit lacking.
Hexes is quite interesting as well. They cost souls, granted, but there are some really strong choices.
I love magic class in ds1. Ds2 and ds3 also reduced the power of the magic a lot and this is because of pvp.
DS2's casting speed is solely based off of your casting stats: Intelligence/Faith/Attument.
For example in DS3 your casting speed stat is solely based off of dexterity instead of any actual spell casting stat making you use the spell casting speed ring as most builds cant' afford the dex stat cost to not cast slower then a slug stuck in tar.
Or DS1 which has a baffling casting speed system where only dexterity levels 35-45 count for your casting speed stat but only for specific spells.
Also don't get me started on how stupid the magic adjustment/power is in DS1/3 works...
Ps. You could reduce the FP cost of most spells in DS3 by 75% and they'd still be vastly over costed to give you an idea of how bad FP got.
