mods for SotFS on Linux?
I've been trying all sorts of tinkering to try and get some sort of mods such as iGP11 or GeDoSaTo to work and I can't for the life of me figure anything out that works.

I've tried using Vortex and Nexus Mod Manager under Wine with no dice. does anyone have any divine knowledge on how to get mods to work under Linux? I know it's a pretty niche thing to ask about but any help is appreciated :praisesun:

Just a heads up that GeDoSaTo only works with dx9 titles. SotFS uses dx11.

Have you tried adding iGP11 as a non-Steam game to Steam, then launching it via Proton and then launching DSII through iGP11?

That's about the only idea i have, so i won't be able to answer any follow-up questions, it this won't work. I'm not very knowledgeable with Linux.

I was not aware GeDoSaTo didn't work with Scholar, thanks for the heads up!

I believe adding iGP11 as a non-Steam game may work, I'll give this a shot. thanks for the suggestion :praisesun:

unfortunately this does not work, running the installer is fine but running the actual iGP11 tool results in a crash.

the only "modding" I've been able to do is the uncapped FPS patch for DSIII since that was just a drag-and-drop as opposed to an installer. this looks like a dead end unfortunately :feeling:

Looking to make switch to Linux at some point, so googling stuff left and right is more or less a requirement. While i couldn't yet find something specifically to iGP11, i've found someone who got Re-Shade to work with a Windows game through Proton through my quick searches.

https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/i3md9w/getting_reshade_to_work_on_proton/

Both are graphic's injectors hooking into the DirectX API (useful info for online searches), so the idea here is, that this may inspire a fix for getting iGP11 to work.

Another workaround, is to just not use iGP11 and insert the textures manually. That would require you to unpack and repack the gamefile containing all the textures. In case you want to play online, be warned that this may also increase the risk of getting a softban.

all I want to do is change the button prompts from Xbox to PlayStation lmao

I don't think I'll manually insert the textures just to avoid the risk involved, thanks for your help though!

if you ever need any help with Linux gaming you can give me an add, I've been using only Linux for the past year or two so I might be of some help :hana1::hana2:

Then this one is just drag `n drop:

Again, the drag 'n drop approach is more risky in terms of softbans. Some say, they've replaced textures and are fine, others claim they got softbanned for it. Irrelevant if you play offline.

thank you so much! I had only seen ones that required third-party applications (like iGP11) in order to work, but this is great!
