Uchigatana vs Blacksteel Katana

Hey,

I play heavyarmoured pyromancer with katana, so far using only Uchigatana (+8 for the moment) and i need advice.
I saw Blacksteel Katana has S scaling with Dex (and only dex scaling), is it wise to use BSK right now over Uchi?

DS2 wiki says after infusion BSK still has S scaling, that's true ?

Uchi = DEX at min or close to min requirements
Blacksteel = 40+ DEX

None of the katanas really infuse all that great. I suppose the "best" at infusions would be the Uchigatana, if you stay at 16 DEX.

Scaling is almost always slashed when infused. S scaling for DEX is already far from a S for STR, but infused the "S" means even less. On paper it looks like "Hey, i gain almost 100 elemental damage for only losing ~20 physical damage, what a deal!". In actuality,
at 40 DEX, you'd lose almost 100 physical damage (Ring of Blades will also be weakened).

On top of that, 1 physical damage > 1 elemental damage. Enemies "very weak" to an element still have 10% damage reduction vs that elemental (every player has that innate 10% elemental reduction too). Minimum elemental damage reduction is even higher at the DLC.

Blacksteel Katana > Uchigatana

Swap that thing out for the superior weapon. The move set is fantastic and it has a secret way to speed up your R2. Simply dodge roll, do an R1, then press R2. It will come out twice as fast as normal. Excellent weapon in both PvE and PvP.
