Aggro'd Vengarl
I killed his body but I accidentally hit his head twice and now there is not any option to speak with him. Begging for pardon is bloody expensive which is 90k for me atm. I heard you can kill NPC and revive back. It sounds like a very cheap trick but are there any downsides of killing and reviving? I'm really confused about it. If reviving isn't a good idea, I wont try to get that many souls.

I mean. It's hard to accidently hit a head...

I'm not entirely sure if the grave will show up for him, but the way it works is that you have to spend souls every time you want to use them. They'll despawn again once you reload the area.

I think you're better off getting a pardon, but I guess you can try it and see if it works, if he's not going to talk to you anyway.

I really wish Vengarl's Head would chase behind you and bite you in the ankles.

I would also wish those bites would do insta-curse, insta-poison and do tremendous damage to teach some people, what a stupid idea it is to attack peaceful npcs.

He maybe won't sell the Red Rust gear if you kill and revive him because a killed NPC will make it impossible to go on with his questline.

I dont know which part of "I accidentally hit his head" you don't understand but I didn't know that it's an NPC. I wasn't wearing the ring. There wasn't an option to speak with him also when I first met so I thought that it's just a rock. When I understood, it was too late.

I found an info about killing him.
"He can be used as a vendor after being killed by paying 3000 souls to his gravestone. He will reset when the player rests at a bonfire, thus requiring an additional payment for every subsequent use and bonfire set." So I assume I don't miss anything when I kill him?

As said I don't know whether he'll sell the Red Rust gear which he only sells when you speak to him after killing his body. And questlines can't be continued if you kill the NPC.

What sort of questline does he have?

You speak to him.
He tells you his body is roaming around.
If you exhaust his dialogue, he gifts you his helmet.
You kill his body, it drops the remaining armor.
You speak to him again and he sells you his 2 weapons and his shield.

So since you didn't speak to him directly after aggro'ing him, I'm not sure whether the Red Rust gear is already in his inventory. If it's not, you can't obtain it after killing & reviving him.

Is it required to equip the whisper ring in order to talk to him? Because there wasn't any option to speak I am sure. I tried different positions to see if I could speak or not. Earlier I fight against a ghost there. I don't think I hit him while fighting the ghost as he didn't said anything but I don't know. Any chance that it can be the problem? He looks like he isn't an important NPC to trying to collect 90k souls which seems impossible to me.

LOL I'm sorry for all that questions.

He's a normal NPC. You just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up at some point.

That's funny, picturing his head in a fruitless rage, cursing at you.
