Why does it show a X next to my claymore?
I Chose the class knight and played for a while until i could afford the sword known as claymore. i bought it from the Head of Vengarl but whenever i equip the sword and try to use it it wont do any damage and i think it has something to do with the X next to the sword. can anybody help i am really confused

i thought it was a bug and have started 2 new accounts and gotten to the same destination as my other but the same thing happends

You dont have the stats to use it. Check the equipment detail page and your stats.

Try powerstancing with claymores, that's some deadly weaponry right there.

When equipping weapons, it shows you the requirement to use them (usually str and dex, though some require int or faith as well). The requirements not met are in red. The only exception is strength, which lets you wield the weapon two-handed as long as you meet half the requirement. They're represented by icons, but are easy enough to figure out.

Pressing the back/select button on a controller will show a little explanation window for everything

Alright i just killed the persuer and the dragonrider and got enough to level myself up to the stats i needed to use the sword, Thanks

If you two-hand a weapon, you halve the strength requirement for it. Dex is not affected, you will need to meet that requirement. So if a weapon needs 20 Str and 10 Dex for example, you only need 10 Str and 10 Dex to use it effectively two-handed. If you have 1.5x the Str and Dex needed to wield the weapons in your left and right hands, if you try to two-hand you can powerstance them. Not all weapon combos work however.
