In my opinion this is underrated.
It becomes great when infused with Fire or Dark, solid dmg.
Out of all the Arty swords in the series, it's probably the best because every attack can be fluidly chained into the flip-attack(True combo). + the flip's startup staggers people.
Powerstance is not so good, the special attack looks neat but it's pretty much useless because it takes so freaking long with the animation.
It's also got pretty good infusion scaling.
You can always farm twinkling titanite, make it max level, reset your stats with a Soul Vessel at the old ladies to get the required stats, then try it out. A bit of a time investment though.
For me, I love it just because if you wield it in your left hand, it has a special heavy attack for one hand, two hand, and power stance: all Artorias moves.
Did not know it could actually be infused. That or I just forgot, since I've only gotten back into the game now. It's really odd that it can be infused though.
The stagger also depends on the distance to an opponent.
