Balder Side Sword equivalent for DS2?

I'm running a greatsword build and thought it might be nice to have a decent sidearm, either in case an enemy is too agile to hit with the greatsword, or the enemy has high resistance to my greatsword infusion type.

DS1 had the Balder Side Sword (aka the "Baller Swag Sword"). Unusually long for a straight sword, and it had a poke attack that did unusually high damage. It was generally considered to be a great choice regardless of what kind of build you were running, though the weapon itself scaled with Dex.

I was curious if there are any weapons in DS2 that care comparable to the Balder side sword. Otherwise, I'm considering a Heide Knight sword, estoc, or even some kind of dagger. Though I'll probably just stick to the greatsword most of the time (so maybe I should just get a second greatsword with a different infusion).

There's isn't really anything like the BSS in this game. The closest thing aesthetically would be the Estoc. Thrusting swords in general are great weapons in this game, either as main or sidearm. Good range and generally good DPS thanks to high counterdamage.

If you're using a greatsword, you're likely leveling STR and the Estoc scales well with that. Unlike other thrusting swords, it also has a fast 1HR2 horizontal slash (shield piercing). It's counterdamage is relatively low, though.

The Rapier is a bit shorter and scales with DEX, but thanks to it's higher counterdamage (especially with the Old Leo Ring) might also be worth considering having as a sidearm, even you stay at 12DEX. No brainer, if you're using a DEX scaling greatsword. The Espada Ropera is a straight upgrade, but you can only get it after beating Giant Lord.
