DS2 npc's are weird
They walk up to me and face me, with their backs to everything else.

NPC phantoms lock you on when idle, for some reason.

DS3 ones have a weird quirk too, they will keep attacking an enemy after it's dead.

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA what a true XD in DS1 same XD
SOTFS phantoms are still the best in the series though, there's that mage guy that casts light in dark areas, and that other guy that uses binoculars every now and then (wiki says he points to the nearest hidden wall / invader... I don't know) and most of them even use gestures. Really makes them feel alive and less like robots.
Also I don't know if my memory is playing tricks on me, but I could swear I saw one that points you to the windmill you can burn in Earthen Peak... or maybe I dreamed that, lol

SOTFS also has the most intelligent (and annoying) invaders, like the grand lance guy who shows up in the ivory king and iron king dlc's.

I did not notice in DS1 that npc's will continue to attack after the enemy is dead, i've only seen that in ds3.

It's funny seeing the Mastodon armor wearing summon Steel-Willed Lorrie in the Iron Passage do the "Welcome" gesture infront of all those Ashen Warriors and keep repeating it even infront of the giant mace enemy before the fog wall.

Forlorn is fun to fight especially since you can do some basic greatsword and scythe parry pratice.

that's right, Maldron, the one that runs away when he's about to lose and even tries to jebait you with the white ring, lol
There's also that other guy in the Ivory King DLC that turns into a barrel and waits for you to open a chest to backstab you, that was pretty great.

The constant invasions in the iron king's bridge is a nod to how people pvp there. some are pretty challenging, like armorer dennis.

Armorer Dennis also invades you in Forest of fallen giants.

The ds2 npc's also have the longest dialogues of the series. They often stand around doing nothing in a battle. Masterless is very good though.
