Dragon's Aerie Question
What causes the sleeping dragons to wake up? I'm familiar with what breaking the eggs does, and it doesn't seem related.

I've had one of the dragons wake up seemingly sporadically, the others stayed asleep even as I scratched their bellies getting the items they were sleeping on.

Breaking the eggs IS related though.

And, obviously, attacking them also causes them to engage in combat.

I thought breaking three eggs gives them the power up, breaking 5 decreases the time it takes for them to attack the bridge, and breaking 7 guarantees they'll break the bridge when you're on it.

I can only speak for what I've seen. I broke some eggs, draggo got mad. It was different in vanilla though so maybe the things you mentioned only apply to that game, assuming they're even true.

I remember them getting mad if you break eggs by rolling through them but not if you break them by swinging a weapon.

In SOTFS the dragons will break the bridge once regardless of you breaking eggs.

I think is for time in the bridge, because i killed a lot of people in PVP, waiting them for me in the bridge, and i invaded in the bonfire of Dragon Shrine, so its time, but probably the eggs too :)

That's just wrong, I've crossed it a ton of times unscathed when I got there the first time with that char/in that NG cycle.

As far as I know bridge attack will happen regardless if You break eggs or not. Breaking eggs will decrease the time dragon will attack You on bridge.

Breaking eggs will also wake up dragons if done near them.
And 3rd dragon, closest to end of the area will wake up no matter what.
2nd and 1st, I'm guessing it has to do with equipment(maybe rings) as sometimes they just sleep like OP mention.
