Weaponsmith Ornifex respawn?
Guys I might've screwed myself.... I found Ornifex but I didn't kill the basalisks there first, and I think they might've killed her. She's not there and she didn't get through her first line of dialogue. Does she move somewhere very soon after being unlocked, or is she dead? Can she respawn? Am I screwed??

After you unlock Ornifex's room in the Shaded Woods, she moves to her home in Brightstone Cove past the second bonfire

Did you open the door and then get attacked by the basilisks? I think I am always attacked by the basilisks before I can get her door to open. I have accidently hit her while killing the basilisks and that time I used a guy you will meet later on (above the church where you fight the priests and the congregation (or whatever they are called). She will leave and show up in her next area if she hasn't been killed.

Well if they killed her at the ruins, you're SOL but she moves to the bottom of Brightstone Cove after you free her.... so hopefully she's there? Otherwise you're out for the whole game cycle.

If she isn't at Shaded Woods or at her house in Brightstone Cove, you should find her tombstone after playing for a couple hours where she died, which should be Shaded Woods. But you will have to pay a couple thousand souls everytime you wanna talk to her that way.

When I talked to Pate at his tombstone after killing him it cost me 2k souls. Also it was a waste of time. He only had one sentence to say. I can't imagine Ornifex will be a merchant in her ghost state. If she does have a tombstone it would be in the room near the basilisks.

She is still a merchant, but her inventory will not update from the state at which she died.

Seriously this is lousy. WHO puts an important NPC THERE?!
I happen to fall in the room no idea whats going on getting attaked by basiliks from all side i somehow open that door and basically everything died including her.

So now i can never ever get boss weapons?
I only play games once so no NG+. Very annoyed. I was wondering where those great souls were for and now they are useless. Might as well consume um then?!

Straid at Lost Bastille also trades boss weapons and boss spells for your boss souls. NOt the same one, Ornifex does, though.
Also, IF you ever decide to do NG+, keep in mind, that most boss souls have 2 different things you can trade them for.

Don't prioritize opening doors over killing enemies from now on. The cooing you could here from the other side should've been a dead giveaway to not recklessly open it.

Yes, new location is Brightstone Cove Tseldora.

Well... i panicked obviously... If i had known she was there this would have never happened. She doesnt exactly look human and there were like 4 basilisks behind me so i was just trying to hit anything that moved...
I only learned who she was when i read the walkthrough after completing the region to see if i had missed anything massive...
Yeah i have bought all available boss weapons from straid but clearly the bigger ones he doesnt sell :(

So if i uninstall the game after i am done and try NG+ in like a year or (2) will it remember my savegame? Not sure how that works...

I am sure i ll be fine without those weapons but i dont like missing out on content like that!
I also noticed i am missing out now on unlimited green blossoms and some other stuff...
I havent really been using em in DS2 mostly cause i have a finite supply and might really need em later (i have like 25 now). I am not sure i would have beaten artorius without em tbh. Has been no need to use em in DS2 yet.

Green Blossoms and stamina regen never were too useful. They can speed up certain bosses, more-so if you're between 60 and 70% equipload. But if it ends up helping even against the more relentless bosses, it was because you were to greedy to begin with. You're really not missing out on not being able to buy the infinitely. Besides, Ornifex only sells 10, until you beat the final boss anyways.

Your savefile is located at "C:\Users\*your-name-here*\AppData\Roaming\DarkSoulsII\*some-random-numbers*\".
It will stay there, even if you uninstall the game. However, i'd still back-up savegames of games, that you stopped playing, in case you wipe your drive or reinstall Windows or get a new computer at some point.
Many people forget about their old savegames, re-install Windows and desperately try to get their old saves back later (without success).

Keeping a save game file is probably just a good idea regardless. With all the hackers in DS3 I got in the habit of every now and then moving a save to a specific file just in case.

You just never know when you might need it.
