Titanite Chunk Locations - Shaded Ruins
I have been researching titanite chunk locations online so I can further upgrade my +8 weapon. The wikidot and a video state there's one in a chest on top of a platform near the first Bonfire in Shaded Ruins. I opened the chest and received rubbish. Is this a bug, or did something change in SOTFS? I already grabbed one chunk from the crystal lizard in Huntman's Corpse and the two in Harvest Valley.

Here's the link to the video that shows the player picking up a titanite chunk from the chest in Shaded Ruins https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3GhBH5kxHY

There is an enemy near the chest that looks like a ghost, it is quite easy for this one to break the chest once it targets you (has to do with this enemies's pathing)
Once a chest is broken you will always only get Rubbish out of it

If you get rubish from a chest, it means that you broke it. The enemies can break it too so maybe one broke it, there is one close to it.
Anyway, chunk lost, you can farm them in the gutter with fire arrows or fire infused bow

yeah, be careful with that one. its AI works in a way that baits you into attacking the chest, as well as coming close enough for it to do the same.

Oh, what a joke. Yeah, the enemy broke the chest and it turned out to be rubbish. That wouldn't happen in the original Dark Souls. LOL, kinda cheesy.

Just use a bonfire asceic on the nearest bonfire and voila: chest restored. Or go to higher NG cycle in general to 'reset' it.

Do not use ascetic, it will put that area on NG+ mode and I am assuming OP is new.
Don't worry about getting chunks, You'll get more on the way and You can farm them with bellbro convenant or near Rotten, drops from enemies.

Later on You also will be able to buy it from merchant in Majula. It also does not matter that much from casual point of view(first playthroughs etc) if weapon is +8 or +10.

Yes, I just started playing about a week ago. I am purposely trying to stay low SM for a low level pvp build. I realize some people shun that type of gameplay, but I enjoy it and I like to play at lower levels. It's a challenge. For example, in Dark Age of Camelot, you can use the command /xp off to stay at level 24 for a specific battleground.

My weapon is +8 now and I have about 5k souls left that I was saving if I found another chunk to upgrade my Mirrah GS to +10. However, I can't even get past the Executioner's Chariot. I must have tried about 20 times last night. I got close to killing the horse, but he did a horse stomp and took me out in one hit. I am only level 19 so I have less than 1000 HP.

I figured I'd see someone's soul sign so I could summon help with the boss fight, but players seem to invade more than co-op. I was hoping someone could just drop me a titanite chunk too.

Someone may drop You upgraded weapon. This is the only way to "trade" upgrade materials, the only problem is SM summon range.

If You want help then ask here on forum, tho I must warn You about cheaters in this game, it may still happen and someone may break your equipment, so back up your save file, don't worry it is totally safe and You will not get softbanned for it.

I did not saw You mentioning Agape Ring. And I hope you know it exists. It prevents You from getting any sort of Souls and thus keeps your SM(Soul Memory) from rising.

As for that damn horse and damn hitboxes on its stomp, my advice: be under 50% equip load for longer roll distance and raise your adaptibility, certain helmet from certain map loving guy helps with it.

I'm trying to keep it as spoiler free as I can.
